KSHSAA Selects Pittsburg State University, Shakes Up State Football, Volleyball Sites For 2018

Change will be in the air come Fall 2018 for the Kansas High School Activities Association. This fall will mark the removal of Class 4A-II and the addition of Class 1A for Football. In a media release, KSHSAA announced the assigned hosting sites for 2018 with the classification changes. The host sites will remain the same, but shakeup which classes are assigned to specific venues.

For 2018, the following classifications will compete for a State Football Championship at the selected venues:

6A – Emporia State University
5A – Pittsburg State University
4A – Hummer Sports Park (Topeka)
3A – Hutchinson Community College
2A – USD 305 District Stadium (Salina)
1A – Fort Hays Tate University
8-Man I & II – Fischer Field (Newton)

The State Football Championships for all classifications are scheduled to take place on November 24th, 2018.

KSHSAA also announced venue changes to the State Volleyball Championship sites.

6A & 5A – Tony’s Pizza Events Center (Salina)
4A & 3A – Hutchinson Community College
2A – Gross Memorial Coliseum (Fort Hays)
1A – White Auditorium (Emporia)

The State Volleyball Championships for all classifications are scheduled to take place on October 26th & 27th, 2018.
