Four teams combining for a 3-21 record come into district 9 looking to make it into the playoffs. Can you say this one is up for grabs ? I have seen Leon Blue Stem play this year along with everyone that they have played .
Leon Bluestem 2-4
The Lions started the season with a 0-59 loss to the Humboldt Cubs. After that game I wasn’t sure if Leon Bluestem would win a game this season . They do have two victories against the last two teams in the Tri-Valley league . The Lions played a heck of a game versus the Fredonia Yellow Jackets in week 5 and eventually lost in double overtime 55-49. Leon Bluestem starts district play at Wichita Independent .
Belle Plain 1-5
Belle Plain’s only victory this season was a route of Northeast Arma 68-0. The Tigers gave up 98 points in week 1 loss to Conway Springs . In the five losses this season Belle Plain have given up more than 50 points in each game . They will start district play at home versus the Douglass Bulldogs.
Douglass played really competitive in their first two weeks , losing by a combined 13 points in those contest. The next four games they were outscored 229-42. I believe the Bulldogs will edge out their first two victories during district to have a chance at making the 3A playoffs.
Wichita Independent 0-6
Independent has only score 35 points in the first six games this season . One thing they have going for them is they will have two home games during district play . The Panthers could surprise this district by winning a couple games . I think they have played a little bit tougher schedule than the other teams in this district .
