Altoona-Midway Battles For A Homecoming Win

With a very tight ball game throughout the game the Altoona-Midway Jets would come through with an exciting homecoming victory over Marais Des Cygnes Valley 40-36 .  It has been quite some time since they have won a homecoming game .

“We played one of our best games of the year tonight ” Coach Joe Arell would explain.  He said “Every game, we go in as the under dog and I think the guys like it that way .”

The offensive line played excellent giving their quarterback Dawson Ashmore plenty of time to throw the football tonight as he threw for 130 yards and 2 scores.  The line also made plenty of room for the running backs to run and score throughout the evening.  The teams would go in at halftime tied 14-14.

There would be plenty of scoring in the second half of this thriller .  Altoona was able to put 26 second half points up to Marais des Cygnes 22.

The Trojans would have the opportunity to steal a road win with two minutes left to play down by 4 but would have to drive 65 yards to do so.  They would move the ball all the way inside the 5 yard line of the Jets before the Altoona defense would seal the victory 40-36.

Altoona Midway 2-4 will travel to Lebo 1-5 next week
