This is your final season of a fantastic career at Caney. What are your expectations, both personally and as a team, for the coming year?

We graduated four seniors from last years team. We are a young team and only have three seniors, so one of my goals is to be a leader for the younger girls and to lead by example. Last year was the first time for Caney to go to state since 1993 and this year we don't just want to make it to state but we expect to make some noise while we're there.

I understand you're recovering from an injury. How has this affected your training and preparation for the coming season?

Yes, I recently had back surgery in May, so summer basketball was out of the question. My back feels better and I can now feel my toes and left hand again. I'm also slowly getting my speed back and now able to move side to side. Really the only training I was allowed to do was physical therapy. Missing out on the whole summer was hard but I was able to get a better appreciation for being able to play the game. So, even though I didn't get to work on my basketball skills I know I have improved over all.

What activities do you participate in school?

My favorite activity is FCA. I'm also in NHS, Publications, PUPPS (a peer mediating group) Native American Student Association, basketball and I had to lay off softball last year, but I'm looking forward to playing this Spring.

What are some of your hobbies and interests away from school?

I really enjoy hunting and fishing. I'm hoping I can get back to riding horses now that my back is doing better. I really enjoy going to church activities and participating in youth group. Also I love joking around and pulling pranks with my friends :)

What are your plans following high school?

I plan on playing basketball at Independence Community College next year. I'm still undecided on a course of study but I'm really looking forward to taking a nutrition and a New Testament class.
